Ciao! I’m Vanja Barbul, founder of Barbulianno – Interior Design, and photography enthusiast. Creativity = Freedom!
When I was little my mum always used to tell me I’m a dreamer with my head in the clouds. I have to be honest – that hasn’t changed much.
Maybe we don’t think about it often but our space is a natural projection of our mind. Home is a place where you should feel safe, accepted and happy. It should mirror your true self. I am minimalist, natural, light and urban. Who are you?
Ever since my childhood days, I always had a secret crush on Interior design. It all started by reimagining every space I came across - thinking how would I rearrange the furniture, paint the walls, add different décor and completely change the space. It was all done in my head in just a few moments of imagination. Followed by a curiosity of how houses look like inside and in what ways are families using the space as their home.
Some years later it was time to choose the university and what a surprise, Interior Design was on top of my wish list. Sadly, there were not too many options within the city my parents could afford my studies and I chose Economics instead, with a promise to myself that one day I will study what I always wanted.
I finished Economics and it was time to look for a job. As it usually goes you start doing something completely different. Somehow, I ended up doing Events and honestly, I fell in love with it. The start of my career was with a Cruise Line and it was really a great one to have. Travelling and working at the same time, it’s something I recommend to everyone at least once in their life. I learned so much over the years from all the aspects of the Events you could possibly imagine – managing, decorating, coordinating, selling, recruiting…
The one thing I noticed whilst doing all those events – I was particularly interested in the design of it. I knew it was time to make that change and finally go for what I always dreamed about. It was a tough decision to make but it was definitely the right one. I left my full-time job and dedicated all of my free time to learning about Interior design. I felt so happy to be able to share my inspirations and help others to decorate their homes, even if it’s just through a few photos.
Through BARBULIANNO I am looking to grow as a Designer & Content Creator and share with you every step of the way. From the very beginnings where I completed the Interior Design Course at HSC Oxford Home Study, through designing with Sketchup, to detailed & advanced use of Photoshop.
Why is BARBULIANNO’s logo a tree branch?
It represents my love towards – Family, Green Planet and Nature. Family as a core of all the beginnings, as well as the extended family of likeminded people who share the love towards Interior Design. Greener Planet is something I would really love to give my contribution to. Nature is what gives me inspiration, power and calmness.
Few things I strongly believe in - There is no better investment than in yourself; Learning new things keeps you moving forward; If you have a chance to help someone, just do it.
My mission is to create fresh decor ideas for your home - where you can take an endless vacation from the world. I'm hoping to inspire and above all create value for all of you out there.
P.S. I also support start-up designers & creators and love promoting their work!
