Ciao dear Creative! Thanks for stopping by. I’m Vanja Barbul, founder of BARBULIANNO – the home of Sustainable & Eco-Friendly Interiors and Local Home Decor Makers.
When I was little my mum always used to tell me I’m a dreamer with my head in the clouds. I have to be honest – that hasn’t changed much.
Maybe we don’t think about it often but our space is a natural projection of our mind. A home is a place where you should feel safe, accepted and happy. It should mirror your true self. I am minimalist, natural, light and urban. Who are you?
Ever since my childhood days, I always had a secret crush on Interior design. It all started by reimagining every space I came across. I would rearrange the furniture, paint the walls, add different décor and completely change the space. It was all done in just a few moments of imagination. Followed by a curiosity of how houses look like indoors and in what ways are families using it as their home.
Some years later it was time to choose the university. It came as no surprise - Interior Design was on top of my wish list. Sadly, there were not too many good options within the city my parents could afford my studies, and I've chosen Economics instead, with a promise to myself that one day I will study Interior Design.
I finished Economics and it was time to look for a job. As it usually goes you start doing something completely different. Somehow, I ended up doing Events and honestly, I fell in love with it. The start of my career was with a Cruise Line and it was a unique job to have. Travelling and working at the same time, it’s something I recommend to everyone at least once in their life. I learned so much over the years from all the aspects of the Events you could possibly imagine – managing, decorating, coordinating, selling, recruiting…
I noticed whilst doing all those events – I was particularly interested in the design side of it. I knew it was time to make the change and finally go for what I always dreamed of. It was a tough decision to make but it was definitely the right one.
I left my full-time job and dedicated all of my free time to learn about Interior Design. I have developed a real passion for residential sustainable interior design in particular. It made me so happy to be able to share my inspirations and help others decorate their homes, even if it’s just through a few photos or words.
In 2019 BARBULIANNO was born with the goal to help you decorate your homes as sustainable as possible.
I completed the Interior Design Course at HSC Oxford Home Study - endorsed under the ABC Awards and Certa Awards Quality Licence Scheme. This course gave me extensive knowledge of what's needed to achieve a healthy, functional and beautiful home. It makes me really happy that I can share all of it with you through the Articles and Sustainable Home Styling Service.
